Why it appears here
One project record. One source of truth.

Challenge
The skilled-service and opportunity market is often fragmented across many informal channels. Clients may know the type of worker they need but have difficulty finding suitable people nearby or understanding whether the worker has been verified. Workers and artisans may have real capability but depend heavily on referrals, social networks or one-off contacts. Vendors have similar discovery problems, while training programmes are frequently separated from actual demand for work.
STARTNOW was conceived around the need to connect those pieces. The challenge is not only building a directory. A useful platform must account for different roles, location, registration, verification, service categories, vendor participation, administration, payments, disputes, project evidence and the relationship between training and opportunity.
The project also has to work for Nigerian users across mobile devices and variable network conditions. It therefore needs a responsive experience, clear onboarding, role-specific dashboards and a production model that can grow without forcing every user through the same workflow.
The build
Solution
KOAF is developing STARTNOW as a role-based ecosystem rather than one generic marketplace. Core roles include Youth/Starters, Workers, Vendors and Clients, with operational roles for Super Admin, Marketplace Manager, Registration Agent, Verification Officer, Finance Officer, Support Officer, Contractors, Technical Institutions and Trade Groups.
The product direction includes location-aware worker discovery, a unified registration hub, KYC/verification workflows, vendor and marketplace functions, service requests and administration. Workers can be discovered according to relevant service and location parameters, while vendors can participate in structured categories and units.
The wider roadmap includes wallet and escrow concepts, where client payments can be held and released according to completion rules, as well as a diaspora project pathway for people abroad managing building or business projects in Nigeria. That pathway is designed around budget visibility, progress evidence, receipts, contractor sourcing and controlled project updates.
KOAF's data-acquisition strategy also connects the platform to real institutions and trade networks, including technical colleges and artisan associations, so growth does not depend only on online advertising.
Current evidence
What can be inspected today
A public STARTNOW web presence and a dedicated interactive prototype are available for demonstration and continued development. The project already provides a clear product architecture for different user roles, location-aware discovery, marketplace/vendor participation, administration and the future escrow/project-delivery model.
The next evidence milestones should come from production use: verified registrations, successfully completed service requests, partner institutions, active vendors, training outcomes, repeat clients and financial activity. Those metrics should be published only after they can be validated from the platform's actual records.
The mother-company website therefore presents STARTNOW as an active KOAF product with a working prototype and defined roadmap, not as a platform with invented adoption figures or transaction claims.
