Why it appears here

One project record. One source of truth.

This project has been selected for the KOAF Ecosystem directly from Projects & Case Studies in Admin HQ. Its title, description, live URL, homepage screenshot/video and preview preference all come from that same project record.

01

The requirement

Challenge

Travellers frequently assemble important information from many unrelated sources. Visa requirements may be on one site, destination costs on another, embassy information elsewhere and nearby services inside a separate map application. That fragmentation makes planning slower and can be especially difficult for travellers who do not already know what information they should check.

Travel information is also time-sensitive. Visa rules, exchange rates, safety conditions, flights and local operating information can change. A useful product must therefore distinguish between static guidance and information that requires current data or an external source.

TravelSmart also needs to support both users who allow location access and users who prefer to enter a location manually, while ensuring maps and emergency tools remain understandable on mobile devices.

02

The build

Solution

KOAF is developing TravelSmart as a guided travel-information experience. Product areas include Plan a Trip, Explore Countries, Attractions, Compare Destinations, Visa Guide, Cost Calculator, Safety Centre and Emergency support.

The cost-planning model includes categories such as accommodation, food, transport, SIM/eSIM, attractions, insurance, visa, flight, shopping and emergency reserve, with currency handling where suitable data is available.

Map functionality is designed around airports, banks, ATMs, hotels, restaurants and other useful places, with current-location and manual-location support. Emergency direction includes embassy and police discovery concepts, including the ability to help a traveller identify their own country's embassy while abroad.

Nigeria is the initial product focus, with the information architecture designed to expand across African destinations and other countries as data quality and integrations improve.

03

Current evidence

What can be inspected today

TravelSmart remains a product-development initiative rather than a fully launched global travel service. The existing work defines the platform structure, user journeys, map direction, visa/safety modules and cost-planning experience.

The next evidence milestones are reliable data integrations, destination-content quality, stable mapping, current visa guidance and production testing. Because travel rules and safety information can change quickly, the mother company should only describe the product at the level that KOAF can maintain accurately.
